Two Day Series Art Workshop: Hands-On Color Concepts for Artists

Color can be one of the most frustrating aspects of painting, but it can also be the defining aspect of a successful piece of art. This two day workshop will provide artists with a clearing understanding of seeing, interpreting and mixing strong color palettes. Using one subject and a color wheel, we will set up 4 different palettes, applied to four quick paintings. Students will leave understanding how to mix lights and darks by using colors that provide beauty and depth, colors that are never “muddy.” We will talk about color as value and the “zen” of mixing color on the palette, before we put our brushes to the painting surface.
