Program and Communications Manager

Job Overview:

The Programs and Communications Manager will be responsible for a variety of tasks including managing member communications and general administration duties. The successful candidate will manage all communications across multiple platforms (social media, email, telephone, website, etc.). This position will require the candidate to author press releases, magazine articles, social media content and email event promotion material before and after the programs.

Additionally, this position will be responsible for the capturing (smartphone photographic and video imagery) content of programs, lectures, events, experiences for use on the website and social media. This position will develop and maintain new and accurate web content and features as needed.

This position will be responsible for the planning and execution of on-site and off-site programs, special events and classes. This is not a behind-the-scenes role. We expect this individual to foster active and positive relationships with our
members and community through professional communication and strong interpersonal skills. This individual must demonstrate a passion for service and program execution.

Schedule: Full-time hours May-September, part time hours October-April.  

Pay: $25.00 per hour, negotiable based on experience.

Qualifications, Experience, & Skills:

Required:

  • Software proficiency requirements: Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, email marketing programs (such as Constant Contact), and Google Workspace Apps.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Exceptional proofreading and editing skills

  • Ability to multitask, self delegate and stay organized

Highly Desirable or Preferred:

  • 2+ years of marketing, communication, and social media experience

  • 2+ years in office administration, program management or relevant field

  • Event planning, or experiential programming experience

  • CMS (Basic understanding for website updates)

  • Social Media content development for events

  • Smartphone photography and video capturing skills

  • Basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
